The ‘Why Not’ Skills Turning Into ‘Why Don’t You Have This?!
1.3D Printing
Now I know many of you came here hoping to uncover that one guaranteed skill for success... but let me stop you right there.
Skills aren't magic keys , they are side quests. The more you complete, the better your character becomes. So if you’re thinking that learning just one or two skills is going to make you a millionaire overnight… allow me to pop that dream bubble gently.
Then you might ask, 'Well, why bother learning them at all if not to get rich?'
Here’s the thing it's not impossible to make a lot of money from just a few skills. But it’s also not easy. What skills really do is open up new paths. They pull you from the depths of laziness and shape you into someone with focus, willpower, and commitment.
In other words: Having skills when applying for a job or starting a business is like bringing a gun to a sword fight. It doesn’t guarantee victory ...but it sure gives you one hell of an advantage

Now, if you actually read the long intro then I wholeheartedly welcome you to the first skill we’re talking about.
If you skipped to this part? Well... you're still welcome, just halfheartedly. (Just kidding. )
Let’s talk about 3D printing one of the biggest revolutions in the startup world. And I’m not exaggerating.
People have gone from being housewives to millionaires, students to business owners.
How? Simple: they had an idea and they brought it to life with 3D printing.
It’s not just about learning how to use a machine.
It’s about having a tool that removes barriers. No big factories, no massive funding. Just your idea, your design, and a printer.
When you're launching a product or a startup, 3D printing is a godsend:
Low investment
No need for big manufacturers
Full independence
You’ll learn how to operate the printer, design your products, and work with different materials and all that opens massive possibilities.
In today’s world, 3D printing is almost like a mandatory skill.
Starting a business without it is like walking into battle without armor.
With it? You’ve got a shotgun in hand.
Sure, it won’t match the speed or scale of an injection molding factory..that's like an M16.
But for prototyping, testing, launching… this is the perfect weapon.
So yeah...we highly recommend learning this skill.
Because the startup battlefield is real and 3D printing gives you a serious advantage.
2.CODING
Now before you start lashing out like:
“Oh, coding is dead.”
“Oh, AI is taking over everything.”
“What are you, drunk?”
Let me stop you right there.
The answer to the first two is: Not exactly.
And the third? No, I’m not drunk.
Sure, AI might give us a hard time.
(And yeah, I know you're probably off saying hi to Mrs. ChatGPT right now, so don’t act like you have it tough with AI 😏)
But let’s be real… that’s only for beginner to intermediate-level coding.
But Here's the Real Talk:
AI can write a basic calculator.
It can help build a website template.
It can maybe write a simple app.
But when it comes to high-level coding?
That’s still human territory.
I’m talking about:
Building machine learning models that create other tools
Crafting software that solves real complex problems
Engineering systems that scale
Designing websites that don’t look like everyone else’s
Writing code that feels like art
That’s the level where a real coder thrives.
Coding Is More Than Just Making
It's about:
Testing
Debugging
Scaling
Optimizing
Thinking ahead of AI
And Here's the Thing...
Even AI was made through coding and will evolve through coding
So if someone says, “coding is dead,” just smile and move on.
Because in this era, coders are the duct tape holding everything together.
Without them? Things fall apart.
And as for ChatGPT?
Last I checked, it’s not out here filing job applications.
3.Digital Marketing

Until now, I’ve talked about skills that might need some academic knowledge. But I get it not everyone’s a genius. Not all of us are topping math exams or cracking science projects. So… what now?
Well, here’s a solid path: try marketing.
Yeah, yeah, I know you’ve probably heard that word a thousand times. But let me ask you this: have you ever really explored what it means?
If you think marketing is just making a poster or posting on your Insta story, my friend… you are so wrong.
Marketing isn’t just about promotion though yes, that is a part of it. It’s actually about how you present something to the world in a way that makes it look credible and valuable. That takes skill, and more importantly, experience.
Here’s the biggest misunderstanding people have:
They think marketing means “making the product known.” But that’s only half the story.
Marketing is not just about visibility it’s about persuasion.
Just because a water gun has the word “gun” in it doesn’t make it a weapon, right? (Unless you count the emotional damage when it leaks all over your phone.)
Same with marketing just putting something out there doesn’t guarantee it’ll sell. It’s all about the how, when, why, and to whom.
These are the questions you start with in marketing. And trust me, it doesn’t stop there. It's like entering a messy room you’ll need to pick up a bunch of other small skills just to make it presentable.
For students and startup dreamers, marketing is a super valuable skill. In this loud, materialistic world, knowing how to market yourself or your product can literally light the path to success.
And hey there are a ton of free and paid courses out there, so don’t whine. Just try one seriously.
Want to try it out?
Start small.
Get into affiliate programs—I recommend Amazon’s.
(And no, I’m not giving a full monologue on what that is...Google it 😎.)
Using affiliate links teaches you how to pitch a product, understand your audience, and sell. That’s marketing, right there.
I’ve seen people sell expensive shoes, makeup, even snacks just using WhatsApp. And it works.
So why not give it a try? Even just for the experience. And once you get a feel for it… dive deeper.
4.“Idol” Skills – No, I’m Not Telling You to Dance
“Idol? What are you even talking about? Is that a skill? Sounds like BS.”
Yeah, I knew you’d say that. But listen
When I say idol, I don’t mean you should go out and dance on a stage in a glittery outfit.
Come on we're a bunch of nerds, introverts, and overthinkers who’d rather vanish into thin air than stand in front of a crowd.
But here’s what I do mean:
By “idol,” I’m talking about developing the social skills that make someone stand out like an idol without the singing and dancing.
We live in a world where your presence matters. Whether you’re in a job interview, networking event, or pitching a startup idea, your social side speaks as loud as your skills.
And did I mention we’re students?
Yeah we’ve got it rough. Exams, lectures, barely any life skills training... and then one day you realize you can’t even start a conversation without stuttering.
Trust me, I’ve been there. It hurts.
So What Are “Idol” Skills Really?
Here’s what I mean:
Public speaking & crowd handling
Clear communication
Camera composure
Fluency & confidence
Presenting ideas with clarity and detail
Professional presence and etiquette
These are skills you won’t find in your curriculum, but they massively impact how far you’ll go in life academically, professionally, even socially.
And yeah, it’s hard. But if you build them, they’ll make your resume shine like a diamond in a pile of plain PDFs.
How We Built These Skills And How You Can Too:
1. Stage Fright
Saying “I’ll never go on stage” isn’t an option anymore. Who are you lying to?
Whether it’s a group project or your dream job, you’ll have to speak up.
Try this: Join speech competitions, open mics, take public speaking classes, or even try stand-up comedy. You won’t die. (Probably.)
2. Fluency
No, you don’t need a perfect accent. But you do need to be comfortable talking.
Watch videos, speak aloud, chat with friends, or read books out loud. Focus on being natural not flawless.
3. Camera Composure
We all freeze the moment the little red recording light turns on.
Practice. Record yourself speaking. Stay focused. Stay calm. Learn your expressions. You’ll feel cringe at first and then you'll get better.
4. Presentation Skills
This is the game-changer. Whether it’s a pitch, a seminar, or a slide deck learn to present like a pro.
Don’t be robotic. Don’t be cocky. Just be clear, simple, and compelling. That’s what people remember.
5. Etiquette
This is the most underrated superpower.
How you greet, how you listen, how you respond, how you exit all of it matters.
(It’s a big topic, so start Googling “professional etiquette” and thank me later.)
Why Should You Even Bother?
Because these skills will:
Help you land jobs
Help you lead teams
Help you pitch ideas or startups
Help you actually talk to people without imploding inside
...and maybe even help you strike up a conversation with that person you’ve been awkwardly avoiding in the cafeteria
Even if you get rejected, at least now you know how to handle it.
5.Robotics
Robotics you’ve probably heard about it since childhood.
Maybe from sci-fi movies, maybe from cartoons, or maybe in today’s AI headlines. And as AI advances toward more general capabilities, robotics is set to boom right alongside it. Automation isn’t coming someday—it’s already here. By 2030, the global robotics industry is projected to exceed $214 billion. The question is simple: Will you be ready?
Now, a lot of people think robotics is reserved for geniuses with inhuman skills. Sure, advanced robotics looks overwhelming. But here’s the truth: anyone can start.
Like every field, robotics has stages. The advanced stuff may take years, but the beginner stage? That part is exciting. It’s motivating. It’s the “pure bliss” moment like realizing your friend is also late to class. Suddenly, you’re not alone—you’re part of something bigger.
So, how do you start this journey?
Learn Linux – Most robotics frameworks (like ROS and Gazebo) live on Linux.
Level up your coding – C and C++ are must-knows for performance, and Python is huge in modern robotics and ROS2.
Master ROS (Robotics Operating System) – Think of it as your main quest: the backbone of most robotics projects.
Build something playful – A line-following robot, an automated toy car—anything that brings your code into the physical world.
Start small. Keep building. And before you know it, you’ll realize—this isn’t science fiction.
It’s you, turning imagination into reality.
Who knows? Maybe you won’t build the next Skynet.
But you just might help build the future.
